For clarity we split model railways into their scales - so you can find items suitable for your model without concern.

For the mainstream British modellers, consider OO your starting point - boasting brand names such as Hornby and Bachmann. For smaller spaces N scale is worth considering, whilst on a larger scale O and the Garden Rail areas will hold items of interest.

For those modelling European, American and further a field replace HO for OO - with famous names such as Marklin, Fleischmann, Trix and Lima. Smaller offers N scale and the tiny Z scale. Working up scale you find Garden railway packed with German and American firms.
