Z Scale: Gauge 6.5mm, Scale 1:220, 1.5mm/foot A scale pioneered by Marklin to illustrate just how small a model railway could be. DCC is not a working proposition in this scale and most modellers are happy to stick with analogue. Enormous economies of space are possible with this scale, so much so that a layout will fit in a briefcase (Noch make these)! Obviously the degree of detail possible is not as great as the larger scales but the overall impression can be very effective
